"Then & Now"

I have lived in Manhattan for quite some time.  I thought Chelsea has changed a lot, especially in the last 10 years.  Latino Ghetto to Village Gays' Escape Choice, then Galleries and Huge Baby Carts started to show up. Then "Chelsea Market' opened in the old Nabisco Biscuit Factory.
After the first section of "The High Line Park" opened, Chelsea was no longer Manhattan's Most Colorful Peoples' Neighborhood.
This morning, a Friend sent me a photo set of Chelsea .  I was quite surprised that changes were happening way before I arrived to this area.  Here is evidence how it has been changing since the turn of the century.

This was West 22nd Street  in 1928,  where I live now.

This is how it looks,  now.

"Boy's Day in Japan"

May 5th is a "Tango No Sekku".   In other word "Boy's Day"
It's a National Holiday in Japan.  Many families are displaying fish shaped flogs in their garden and Armers and Katanas in their house.  Having special food and sweets.  If you go to my post in last May you will see what they looks like.
This year, I'm posting a card which Jonathan created pr just for today  to celablate this special day.  I may try to go mid town to get some "Kashiwa Mochi" at "Minamoto Kitcho An" this afternoon.
