It has been a very mild winter till this week.

We are staying home to avoid bone chilling strong wind this weekend.

" OSECHI and ZONI for TWO "

New Year's Day is the biggest holiday in Japan which comes with many traditions and foods.  Even if I'm living far from my home country, I still manage to celebrate New Year's Day with some of those.

I have been going to the Buddhist Temple in Uptown for the New Year's Eve for wishing Happy New Year and for having some SOBA for Good Luck.

On New Year's Day, I have been inviting a few friends for OSECHI & ZONI.

Osechi is a combination of many dishes you make before the day and serve them such way, you can taste with SAKE to toast for the New Year. 

Every Family has their own dishes to include. I have been making many things same way every year, and adding some new dishes for a change.

Of Course things had been changed due to Covid Pandemic this year, but I still managed to made OSECHI & ZONI even if for just for two of us.  And not worrying about arrival of guests made my morning quite relaxing.

When I was in the kitchen making late lunch, Jonathan was busy taking photos of the table so that we can send photos of it to friends who couldn't make to the celebration this year.

So, here's how it went yesterday.
