" KIMONO Bags for Autumn "

 

I just finished making Bags from Vintage KIMONOs for the NYBC's "Autumn Festival." 

This season I decided to use just 2 KIMONOs and focusing on 2-styles, Grocery Bags (even though they came out too fancy, maybe?) and Purses (it's a good size for ladies to carry their keys, wallet, and phones....)

I also wanted to use up some great remnant KIMONO Fabrics.  

They are so precious and perfect fabrics to make Purses for coming the Holiday Party.

I combined with fuzzy wool to give bags some warmth.

And, it sure did.

This Ikat has such a casual look, soI thought Denim is the perfect match. 

But, the result is very dressy...

I thought this Dress Purse is the most elegant KIMONO-Bag I ever made...

 At the middle of the day, I've got those CHOCOLATE.

They are coming from Jonathan's new discovery  "CHOCOLATE MODERNE."

Dark Orange Box was filled with 

6 of Traditional Japanese Flavors which they call "KIMONO Collection."

Azuki Beans, Green Tea, Mango, Sesami Shichimi, Shiso Lime, Yuzu Honey.

And I have to have some cake with a candle.....

" 中秋の名月(Chushu-no-Meigetsu) or Night of the Harvest Moon "

The day of "Harvest Moon",  

it traditionally marked the start of the annual harvest 

and it is a day when people all over Japan pay particular attention to the night sky,  

enjoy moon viewing parties and some special food such as "Tsukimi Dango" 

spherical sweet white dumplings that represent the full moon.
