Because of it's nature many shoppers were expecting to find Japanese things at the event. I made tote bags using TENUGUI (Japanese Kitchen Clothes) for the Spring Bazaar. For the Fall-Winter Season I decided to make tote bags of YUKATA Fabrics which I got from my dear friend TOMOKO's Mother in TOYOHASHI-city in Japan.
I was also saving Cotton Jacquard Border Fabrics from Italy for some time without knowing what they were for. Some strange reason those 2 fabrics were a perfect combination for what I was thinking making for the event. I worked for 2 days to make those one of a kind Toto-Bags. They came out better than I expected. And they were very Japanese Looking Tote Bags. They were almost loke things you can find at Craft Shops in country side of Japan. So, I nemed them " MINGEI TOTE"
