" Ireland Did It !"

Ireland says YES to marriage equality!

Ireland became the 20th country in the world to allow people of the same gender to marry,  and it became a fairer and more equal society.  Yesterday  millions of irish people decided that the LGBT community deserved equality and that this country needed to change.  Just 22 years ago it was illegal to be gay in Ireland and homosexuality was classed as a mental illness, but now its a different place.  It represents a victory not only for the Yes side, but also for Irish society, Irish democracy and the young people of Ireland. It's no longer the oppressive conservative nation that it once was, bound by the restraints of the catholic church, its now a place where equality and liberty matter.
Today gay teenagers can grow up knowing that they are accepted by their country, and that they too matter.  The struggles of the elderly people who grew up gay in Ireland, living a lie and a life of misery and marginalisation, have finally been recognized.  Well done Ireland, you did the right thing.

Thank You for that Statement, IRELAND !!

"Dance Parade part-1"

All those years I've been living in New York City, I never knew that "Dance Parade" was happening.  Because of Rain delay to get to the Farmers' Market yesterday, I saw some people in dance costumes on the street.   And fond out that "Dance Parade" was starting at 20street & Broadway all way down to the East Village.  Quickly finished shopping, I was able to see it from the very bingeing.  There were many kinds of dancing we could see just standing on the sidewalk.
Classic Ballet, Belly-Dance, Bollywood, Flamenco, Hip-hop, Hula, Samba, you name it, it was all there.  For me the best dance groups were all from Central ~ South America. Their synchronicity, smile, and great colorful costumes made us happy.  I'm so glad that I discovered another great thing in NYC.
The next parade will be at the end of this month,"Gay Pride"   There will be lots of Dancing again...

Can you hear the music ?

And, there were some out standing Costumes.
Here are a few.
I just needed to show...
