" Yayoi Kusama at The Bronx Botanical Garden "

Last Week we had chance to go to the Bronx Botanical Garden to see works by Yayoi Kusama.  We chose such a perfect day to do the Outing.
We met a friend at Grand Central Station to take Metro North to get there.  It took just about 30 minutes.  When getting off the train, you realize that Garden's Gate is just across the street.  I have been there only once before, and it was by car, so I had no idea how easy to get there from Manhattan.  Many people arriving there even though it was midweek.  Because it was such a beautiful day..
As soon as you enter the Garden, tall trees wrapped with White & Orange Polka Dots Tapes appeared in the distance.  I said to myself " Wow, It's going to be a fun day !"

" I wonder how this would works in our home ?"
"Oh, No !"

"Flower Obsession"
You can get a Pink Daisy Sticker at the entrance,
inside the white greenhouse you have to stick it anywhere you want.
As you see, house was filled with Pink Daisies.
I wonder how it will look at the end of the show.

After we took a Tram Tour to get an idea how big NYBG is we are ready for lunch.
I got up a little early to make a few things for an Arty Afternoon.
Inarizushi, Curried Chicken Nugget with Mint Raita and Pickled Radishes.
Aggressive sparrows were gathering at our table, waiting if we give them some...

"Pumpkins Screaming About Love Beyond Infinity"
The pumpkins filled a glass cube sat in the middle of a dark room.
And lights begin to come on slowly,
many sizes of dotted pumpkins started to glow.

"I Want to Fly to the Universe"

This is us with Specific Outfits for the occasion.

Polka Dots were everywhere, even the restaurant in the park was decorated by them.
Yayoi didn't paint this, it's a Mother Nature's Artwork.

My favorite part of the Garden, the Daylily Pass.
"Dancing Pumpkin"
The Giant Pumpkin is not the only one dancing.

"My Soul Blooms Forever"

"Hymn of Life - Tulip"

"Starry Pumpkin"

In the Mertz Library we could see
her paintings, collages, early sketches and more sculpture.

Vista with Tulip Trees from the entrance of the Library.

The Show continues till October 31.
So, you still have plenty of time to get there.
Even if you are not a fan of KUSAMA's work,
I believe that you will have great time...
