"Bags from Vintage KIMONOs"

Silk Tote Bags

Silk Grocery Bags

For those who couldn't make to Up-Town on Saturday.
Those were Bags I made from Vintage KIMONOs.
I had few minutes to take photos of them,
before started to go to the New York Buddhist Church.
I did OK at the bazaar,
But I still have some left after the event.
I guess I can use them for Christmas.
After all they are all handmade by me...

The most challenging part of making those bags is.
to find fabrics to go with those Vintage KIMONOs.
Because I'm selling some of the as "Grocery bag" I had to make them strong.
Specially bottom part of them.
Believe it or not sometimes I ended up with quite expensive fabrics.
At this time, a coordination for striped fabric is Cavalli's(Italian High Fashion Designer)
Original Textile with Metallic 3 dimensional print.

I think it came out very stylish.
I may even make one for myself for this fall Season.....

"This house is ready for Holloween"

There is a house on my block has special decoration for every holidays.
And, this year's Halloween Display is quite special.
Even though they lost 2 flying witches by the rain storm we had last week.
Black Witch Hats are flying high.
I wonder if they are adding more to it.
After all we still have a week for very last day of October.

There are more houses getting ready for the big night.
Here are how they decorated.

"Uso dei Libri" by David Downey

Not all books are holy.
Some fill holes.
Some bridge gaps.
Some balance objects, hide things, make good kindling.

"Sweater Jackets for Fall"

This is our first "Mother & Daughter Outfits" for fall.
Some people will say that is not it.
But, for us wearing same items (even different colors, and styles) is just similar enough.
And having scarves (same print in 2 colorway) which our friends got us in Italy made it.
It is getting Cool in New York.
We can't go out early morning without items like sweaters any more.....
