"A Irish Cat"

I found this.
I have to include him or her to the St, Patrick's Day Cerebration.

"After the Parade"

This past Saturday was St. Patrick's Day,  New York City has the parade on 5th Avenue every year.  This year's St. Patrick's Day was a very cold day.  Even snow was coming down.
I have never ever seen that parade.  I just never find a good reason to go uptown to see it.  Come to think of it, St. Patrick's Day is always a cold day.  I just don't want to stay out, even if you could see many men in skirts....
Matisse's retrospective show at the MET was closing last weekend, Jonathan & I decided to go to uptown.  When we came out of the museum after a few hours, the snow had stopped and 5th avenue was still closed.  We had to get to the east side subway to get downtown.
Even though our intension to go uptown was not celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we couldn't ignore so many men with skirts who were on the street.   They seemed to having good time even if that was a very wet cold day.
There is something about men in pleated skirts with matching high socks that makes me think, is this going to be a part of fashion somehow?
And fashion reports from Europe are including men's skirts for the past few seasons.  After all Irish  Men were wearing them proudly for long time, so why not the rest of the men of the world....

Many people came to join the parade on chartered Buses.
Of course not just a regular Bus.  Had to have a special logo with it.

St. Patrick's Day ended with the Empire State Building lit with Green Lights.

"Happy St. Patrick's Day"

"The Dream of Flowers"

Duane Michals - The Dream of Flowers, 1986

A sequence of four photographs made in 1986 “The Dream of Flowers” shows the head of a young man, eyes closed, resting on a glass table that mirrors his head. Each following picture shows the head progressively covered with more and more flowers.
There is an initial under each photograph. Together, they spell “AIDS”. Because Michals believes that the photograph can’t really give the whole picture, he uses captions to get to cloder what he is trying to say.

"Misao & Fukumaru"

"Under the sun, everyday is a good day.
Another good day, Fukumaru !"

This grandmother and her cat are always together.
There is a photobook captured the everyday life of "Misao" who bends herself to the fields work with her cat "Fukumaru".

12 years ago, Miyoko Ihara has started to take photographs of her grandmother, Misao. Miyoko wanted to leave a living proof of her.
One day, her grandmother found a odd-eyed kitten in the shed.

She named the cat "Fukumaru" in hope that "God of fuku(good fortune) comes and everything will be smoothed over like maru(circle)".
Even thought she is 87 years old, she still go out into the fields everyday, and Fukumaru always accompany her.
Green fields, blooming flowers and plump fruits ... in the colorful, diverse landscape, the life of an old lady and a cat is captured in the photographs.
It has been 8 years since they first met.
The grandmother whose hearing become weak and Fukumaru who has hearing disabilities are always looking into each other's eyes and feeling warmth each other.
When the white cloud float across the blue sky, the grandmother and her cat go out in the filed today too.

You can even see some farmer's life in Japan from these photos.
