" Vegetable Cups for Thanksgiving "

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday.
We went to our friends Jonathan D. & John's Home to celebrate this Holiday with friends as every year for last about 15 years or so.  They have been hosting this great Holiday Dinner for 48 years.  Yesterday was a another fantastic one as always.
They asked me to make a side dish instead of a Veggie Basket this year.  And I was getting a little tried of making it.  So, when they asked me to do a side dish, it was a happy surprise.  This thanksgiving I made "Stewed Hijiki Seaweed with Edamame."
But, I still wanted to bring some veggies for cocktail hours.  Since this was my extra contribution to the party I had freedom to do it with different presentation for CRUDITE.  I was wondering if I can use cabbage leaves as a cup to hold vegetable sticks.  And if I make small cups for guests they can hold own cups, then don't need to stand by the table with their drinks.  I thought that will make conversation flow before the dinner.  Result was....

Vegetable Sticks are Watermelon-Radish, Daikon-Radish, French-Breakfast-Radish.
Sugar-Snap-Pea, Japanese-Turnip.
Cups are filled up with Carrot-Ribbons before I placed vegetable sticks in.
I also made Miso-Goma Dip and Dukkah-Dry-Dip(always served with Olive-Oil).

They are ready for Guests' Arrival.

If you are wondering what was on the plate, here is the menu.
By the way, Jonathan F. designed the menu for the night.

" The Very First Thanksgiving"

While many paintings of “the First Thanksgiving” show a single long table
with several Pilgrims and a few Native people, there were actually twice
as many Wampanoag people as colonists.

"Paris Against Trump"

American expats and tourists, French allies and progressives from around the world came together in Paris on the afternoon of Nov. 19, 2016, to protest the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States.
A large and vocal crowd denounced the extreme-right-wing politics of racism, hate and division that drove Trump's campaign and that are nakedly on display in the grab-bag of white supremacists, anti-Semites, misogynists homophobes, transphobes, climate-change denialists and corporate lobbyists he is naming to his administration.
Many French people were there not to engage in U.S.–bashing, but to support the more than half of the United States who voted against Trump.
Signs carried by many people made it clear that our French friends are terrified that their country will be next, with the odious leader of the National Front, Marine Le Pen, poised to make it into the run-off in the French presidential election next year. Le Pen was one of the first to leap onto to Twitter to congratulate Trump — even before the final election results were announced in the U.S. (G. Koskovich)

This is what happening even out side of USA.
Sometimes you need to see outside what people think.

"Miniature Worlds with Desserts"

Matteo Stucchi is a pastry chef from Monza, Italy, who builds playful tasty-looking-worlds using only desserts and fills them with little figurines. "A dessert's looks is just as important as its taste," says Matteo and we couldn't agree more.  Baked Brownies become mining sites, Cake Pops turn into a Ferris wheel - there's no limits to his wild imagination.

Nothing wrong with being creative with your food.
Rather than buying a pumpkin pie,
would you like to make some different dessert for Thanksgiving Day Dinner ?
