" Scent of May "

A few more days left before Summer begins.
And it is ending the season of my favorite flowers Lily of Valley or SUZURAN.
Suzuran means "Bell Orchids"
These tiny white blossoms have most elegant fragrance.
I'll enjoy them until the very last spray fades away....

" Bird family in the Central Park "

A few weekends ago we walked through the Central Park.
Friends who lives close nearby to it introduced me a Bird Family.
They visit them quite often so that it looked they know who were visiting their nest.
Believe it or not, Birds made the nest so low, you can reached it.
I don't think I never seen Birds so close.

" Photos from Japan Parade "

At 1PM Saturday afternoon 1st Japan Parade held in New York City.
Almost 20 city blocks from West 81st street down to Columbus Circle,
both sides of Central Park West was clouded by spectators.
I was not expected that !
I guess people were ready for fun time.
or they early love Japan ?

A friend of mine send this video.
George Takei was the Grand Marshall, who else could it be, Right ?

It was Great Display of Distinctive Culture you can't seen from any another country.
I sincerely hope this will become annual event for Spring in NYC.

After watched almost 2 hour of parade we decided to stop by at Japan Street Fair.
Every booths had a long line to get things they are offering,
we just didn't have energy left to get on it.
But we have a chance to have close look for "MIKOSHI"
It's a portable shrine carrying by
men, women sometimes with children at Festival time.

" Sunday in the Park with SAKURA "

Yesterday was gorgeous Spring Day, and SAKURA or Cherry trees in the Central Park.   They were just a little passed Peak, but they were fully blossomed almost like Pink Balls on trees.  We got together under the big tree as we gather every Spring except last 2 years for HANAMI or Flower Viewing.  People in Japan, family and friends gather every early spring for HANAMI, and that idea is no longer just among Japanese.
Yesterday, Central Park was filled with so many people who were doing picnic or walking through under SAKURA trees everywhere.
It was a perfect Sunday Afternoon for HANAMI.

This is what Yuki brought to Picnic.
They were very Japanese Hanami Food with great drinks.
As you can see flower petals are falling down on us.
Could it increase the flavor of everything ?
Maybe this is why I love HANAMI.
