"BON ODORI on Governors Island"

The last day of August in NYC, Japan Performance Arts, Inc hosted "Bon Odori Festival" on Governor's Island.  I decided to go there to see Bon Odori performances from 3 different Areas of Japan.  Bon Odori is happening many places in Japan in the Summer Months to celebrate few days of your ancestors visit.  And many people are going back to their hometown from big cities to join their family for this Summertime celebration.   This summer I've got chance to do it in New York.
Till it got dark, they planned some other events at other spots of the Island, and few vendors were serving Japanese Street Food.
After tasted few snacks I went to the "HILL" to get good spot with friends for the performances.  It was lovely walking around seeing how much that Island developed as a Oasis of the City...
The Sun was sinking down behind the Statue Of Liberty, and Bon Dance was just ready to begin.....

It was a lovely evening.
I almost forgot that we were just a 5 minute ferry ride away from
South Ferry in Manhattan.  If you never visited that Island you should do it before it get too COLD.  It became such a wonderful place to relax and see such views of the city we live in.
OH, by the way.  You can stay there in the Tent Hotel.
I don't know it's official name but you can Google to find out all about it.
Here are photos of it.

Maybe this is the way to enjoy nature of this Island ?
